Local Information.
Situated 5 minutes walk from Bridlington Town Centre & North Beaches, the Shearwater is ideally positioned for many of Bridlington's leisure and entertainment venues, whilst being far enough away to offer a peaceful and tranquil setting. For those who enjoy walking, there are coastal footpaths which can take you as far around the local coastline as you might desire. For the majority though, Bridlington's promenades are long enough they lead from the very north of the town near Sewerby Village to Belvedere which is in the very south of Bridlington. For those who would prefer not to walk the full length of Bridlington's beaches there are land trains which serve both the north and south beaches in season.
Also worth a visit is the historic old town; for its characteristic architecture, tea rooms, restaurants, public houses and shops. Along with the historic Priory church and the Bayle Museum, the Old Town really has so much to offer in such a small area it should not be missed.
The region has many outdoor activities to offer, watersports such as sailing & windsurfing. You can even try your hand at land surfing. There is also a parachute centre only 10 mins drive from the town centre. Fishing is a very popular choice, from the many boats that offer charter trips, to the sandy beaches of Bridlington Bay, and the rocky foreshore of Flamborough Head.
Not forgetting the wildlife, predominantley the seabirds of the east yorkshire coast, and Bempton Cliffs in particular home to a vast number of birds of interest, and a little further down the coast is Spurn Point home to many birds also.
You can be sure of good hospitality at the shearwater, and with so much to discover in the area how can you afford to miss out.
